1: Students will be able to identify how some social media users promote an unrealistic sense of reality by listening to an interview of a sociologist and a social media user. Students will then participate in a group discussion on this topic.
2: Students will be able to identify how online information is manipulated to make it look real. They will be able to do so by watching two videos, reading two articles and completing a quiz. Then, they will be provided with the option to either complete a blog on WordPress or a Vlog using YouTube or an application of their choice.
3: Students will be able to identify the impact that social media can have on our self- esteem. They will do some research and create a survey that they will distribute to a target audience of their choice. Then, they will conduct an analysis of the completed surveys and share their findings with the class.
